One of my favorite 90s R&B tracks is Zhané Hey Mr. D.J., so when I heard this Smoke DZA Santos Party House beat, I knew I needed to put a different acapella over it. Both songs sample the same section from the soulful 80’s jam Looking Up To You by Michael Wycoff. When it came time to mash the instrumental, I wanted a female MC and decided on Doja Cat’s Paint The Town Red for the vocals. It has the same smooth vibe as the original but allows you to switch it up in your sets.
